Business and personal correspondence, accounts, deeds, wills, genealogical records, poetry, clippings and other material of the Lloyd family of Lloyd Neck, L.I., and papers of Dr. Richard Henry Derby. Correspondents include John N. Lloyd, James Lloyd, Henry Lloyd, Samuel F. White, George W. Strong, W.P. Greene and Smuel Fitch. Items of note include a deed of Henry Lloyd to his nephew Henry Lloyd of Queens Village (i.e., Lloyd Neck) for land on Lloyd Neck, 1783; a letter of the Rev. Fred E. Dibbles to Henry Lloyd concerning St. John's Church in Stamford, Conn., 1763; and a letter of Dr. James Lloyd to John Lloyd about "maintaining old Negroes on the estate" and other business matters, 1767. Also a letter from Melancthon W. Borland to Dr. Richard H. Derby on Lloyd family genealogy, 1899; marriage record and list of the children of Sarah Coleman and R.H. Derby; a manuscript on the history of the family of William "Tangier" Smith; copy of the will of Latimer Sampson, 1669/9; miscellaneous correspondence of the Alden family; and a booklet, "Historical Sketch of Fort Hill, Lloyd Neck, L.I.," by William John Matheson, with photographs.

He served as the Executive Surgeon of the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. He was a graduate of the Harvard Medical School and served as House Surgeon of Massachusetts General Hospital.
